​This is a returning class to GRCC to replaces GT12. It's a cheap, fun class that is great to get into and challeneges all levels of racer! It aims to include as many folk as possible who are buying new kits but may also have one already

Chassis:

Permitted to race one of the following options. They will all be raced together in the same class:

Body Shell:

This class is a celebration of the Classic Mini. Any Lexan or Polycarbonate Mini shell (i.e. make of car, not any make of car in a Mini chassis size) Available options are the Classic Mini, Mini Sprint, or Mini Clubman. No wings permitted.

• CORE 21 Silver Can Brushed 540 Motor CR711

• Kamtec SATAN Motor 540 20 Turn

• Saturn 20T Motor (540)

ESC:

• K1 Kamtec RC ESC Oval Speed Controller

• Mardave Viper

​

Battery:

• 4 cell NiMh only

• No Maximum mah. The 4600 mah is a popular choice.

• Mounting of battery can be centralised, by drilling new holes, however cannot be moved forward or backwards from original.

Gearing:

• 32dp only

• Maximum 17t pinion

• Minimum 50t spur

 

Tyres:

Any GT12, Mardave, Kamtec or Contact foam tyres, any shore. Jap 46 on the front and UFRA Pink Medium on the rear are a popular choice but you canexperiment with tyre softness and hardness. Only standard 26mm wheel/tyre width permitted.

Permitted Adjustments and Upgrades:

• Power Capacitors permitted. No limit on size.

• Internal rear bumpers are allowed

• Foam bumpers permitted

• You can run Kamtec parts on Mardave cars, and/or Mardave parts on Kamtec Cars as long as all parts are used in either legal kit above

• Any strength kingpins can be used

• Any strength suspension spring front and rear can be used

• Servo price cap of £49.99 RRP at new. Most run much cheaper servos, but this allows you to use a servo that you may already have

• Any servo saver & servo mounts may be used. Some kits come with one

• Any track rods, ball cups and balls may be used

• Ball races are allowed on front and rear axles

• Alloy Drive Hubs permitted. E.g. Mardave Z Drive system or equivalent

• Shims permitted

• Rear double body post upgrade permitted

Other Mandatory Requirements:

• Tyre Additive – Water based only

• Rear axle must remain solid (No Diffs)

• Battery placement must remain as kit/recommended

• No moving of parts in order to change weight distribution

• Overall width of car must not exceed standard

• Steel axles only
